How accurate is the AI identification?
Recognition uses Google Gemini and works best on clearly-photographed, branded consumer products. Each result includes a confidence rating — high, medium, or low. When confidence is anything below high, we strongly recommend reviewing the identified brand, model, and category on the result page and clicking Re-search after correcting them. Re-runs are free.
How many credits does one analysis cost?
Each completed analysis costs 30 credits. You can earn or buy credits in several ways:
- 90 free credits on signup
- +90 credits for both you and a friend when they sign up with your invite code
- 200 credits when you start the $4.99/mo Starter subscription
- 200 credits for $1.99 as a one-time add-on
Credits do not expire while your account is active.
What happens to the photos I upload?
Photos are stored privately in our database (Supabase Storage), tied to your account. URLs are not publicly indexed. We use them only to generate your analysis and to show them in your history. Photos are deleted when you delete your account. We do not sell them and we do not use them to train third-party models without your explicit consent. Full detail in our Privacy Policy.
Which platforms do you pull data from?
Currently nine: Taobao, 1688, Amazon US, Alibaba International, eBay, TikTok Shop, and an aggregated retail dataset covering Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Newegg. Search responses are cached for 12–48 hours so very recent listings may not appear immediately.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, in two situations:
- If our pipeline fails to produce a complete analysis, the 30 credits are refunded automatically.
- For unused credits or a recent subscription, email support@snapforsale.app within 7 days of payment with your account email and we'll process it.
Subscriptions can be canceled any time — cancellation stops the next renewal but doesn't pro-rate the current period.
The price estimate seems off — what should I do?
Estimates assume an average condition, an average listing, and the data available at search time. They're a starting point, not a guarantee. If the result looks off:
- Open the per-platform breakdown — outliers usually come from one source.
- Use Edit product info to correct brand/model and re-run.
- If the identification was clearly wrong, please send us feedback on the result page.
Which currencies and regions do you support?
Today the price floor is USD and CNY, converted using European Central Bank reference rates served by Frankfurter (12-hour cache). Other currencies will follow as we add platform coverage.
How do I delete my account and data?
Email support@snapforsale.app from your account email and we'll process the deletion within 30 days, including stored images. We're working on a self-service deletion button — when it ships you'll see it in your account settings.
Is there any difference between China and overseas use?
The pipeline is the same — six platforms in parallel plus the Datafiniti retail aggregator. From mainland China, access to our hosting (Supabase, Vercel) depends on your network conditions; some users prefer to use a stable connection. The product UI is fully Chinese.
Are you affiliated with Taobao, eBay, Amazon, or any other platform?
No. Snap for Sale is an independent third-party service. We aggregate publicly available data from those platforms via licensed providers and official APIs but have no commercial relationship with them. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
